ICON - Stage 3 Suspension System – Toyota Tacoma 2024–Current
ICON Stage 3 Suspension System
Take your 2024+ Toyota Tacoma to the next level with the ICON Vehicle Dynamics Stage 3 Suspension System, a premium suspension package designed for drivers who want improved on-road handling, increased off-road control, and greater performance under demanding conditions.
Stage 3 builds on the Stage 2 platform by upgrading the rear suspension to ICON 2.0 VS Remote Reservoir rear shocks, providing increased oil volume and improved heat management for extended off-road driving. Combined with ICON 2.5 VS front coilovers, Delta Joint Pro upper control arms, and multiple rear spring options, this system allows you to configure your Tacoma around how you actually use it.
Whether your Tacoma is a daily driver that spends weekends on the trail, carries changing amounts of camping gear, or is permanently equipped for overlanding, select the rear spring and upper control arm configuration that best matches your build.
Why Choose ICON Stage 3?
The Stage 3 system is designed for Tacoma owners who want a noticeable step up in suspension performance without moving into ICON's higher-stage adjustable shock packages.
The 2.5 VS front coilovers provide increased damping capability and suspension control compared with the factory suspension, while the 2.0 VS Remote Reservoir rear shocks provide additional fluid capacity to help manage heat during prolonged use on rough roads and trails.
Stage 3 is particularly well suited for:
- Daily driving with upgraded ride and handling
- Overland and camping builds
- High-speed dirt and washboard roads
- Moderate to demanding trail use
- Tacomas carrying aftermarket accessories and equipment
- Drivers who regularly transition between pavement and off-road terrain
What's Included
Every Stage 3 configuration includes the core ICON suspension components:
- (2) ICON 2.5 VS Internal Reservoir Front Coilovers
- (2) ICON 2.0 VS Remote Reservoir Rear Shocks
- ICON Front Differential Drop Kit
- ICON Delta Joint Pro Upper Control Arm Kit
- Rear spring configuration selected at checkout
- Required components supplied by ICON with the selected suspension system
The exact components vary according to the rear spring and upper control arm configuration selected.
Choose Your Rear Spring Configuration
Selecting the correct rear spring is important. The best spring isn't necessarily the heaviest option—it should match the amount of weight your Tacoma normally carries.
Stock Rear Springs — 0 lb Added Load
Choose this configuration if the rear of your Tacoma remains relatively close to factory weight and you don't need an aftermarket rear spring.
This is an excellent choice for:
- Daily-driven Tacomas
- Trucks without heavy permanent rear accessories
- Light recreational use
- Customers primarily interested in the shock and UCA performance upgrades
This configuration retains your factory rear springs.
Available UCA: Tubular Delta Joint Pro
Triple-Rate Rear Springs — Variable Load
Choose the Triple-Rate configuration if the amount of weight in your Tacoma changes depending on how you're using the truck.
The multi-rate spring design provides a more versatile solution than a dedicated constant-load spring for trucks that may be relatively light during normal driving but loaded with equipment for trips.
Recommended for Tacomas that may carry:
- Camping equipment
- Recovery gear
- Coolers
- Tools
- Weekend cargo
- Rooftop or bed-mounted equipment
- Other loads that are regularly added and removed
This is our recommended option when your Tacoma's rear load changes frequently rather than remaining permanently heavy.
Available UCAs:
- Tubular Delta Joint Pro
- Billet Delta Joint Pro
Overland Rear Springs — 600 lb Constant Load
This configuration is intended for heavily equipped Tacoma builds carrying approximately 600 lb of constant additional rear weight.
Choose this option when substantial equipment remains installed on the truck during normal operation.
Examples may include:
- Camper systems
- Heavy bed racks
- Drawer/storage systems
- Aftermarket rear bumpers
- Full-size spare tire carriers
- Permanently mounted recovery equipment
- Tools and work equipment
- Overland equipment that remains on the vehicle
Important: The 600 lb rating refers to constant added weight, not occasional payload.
If you only carry several hundred pounds during occasional camping trips and drive the truck unloaded most of the time, the Triple-Rate — Variable Load configuration will generally be the more appropriate selection.
Available UCAs:
- Tubular Delta Joint Pro
- Billet Delta Joint Pro
Choose Your Upper Control Arms
Tubular Delta Joint Pro
ICON's tubular upper control arms provide a strong, performance-oriented replacement for the factory UCAs and are designed to complement the increased capability of the suspension system.
The Delta Joint Pro combines high articulation with a sealed design intended for demanding street and off-road environments.
This is the best choice for customers who want ICON's performance UCA without stepping up to the more expensive billet construction.
Billet Delta Joint Pro
The Billet Delta Joint Pro UCA is ICON's premium upper control arm option.
It provides the suspension geometry and articulation benefits expected from an upgraded ICON UCA while adding premium billet construction.
Choose the Billet Delta Joint Pro if you're looking for the highest-end UCA option available with this Stage 3 package.
Availability Note: The Stock Rear Springs configuration is currently offered with the Tubular Delta Joint Pro UCA only. Billet UCA configurations are available with the Triple-Rate and 600 lb Constant Load rear spring packages.
Stage 3 vs. Stage 2
The primary reason to step up to Stage 3 is the rear shock package.
Stage 2 uses ICON's non-reservoir rear shock configuration, while Stage 3 upgrades the rear to remote-reservoir shocks.
The remote reservoirs increase fluid capacity and improve heat management, making Stage 3 better suited to customers who spend more time driving on rough terrain or who want additional performance margin during sustained off-road use.
For primarily street-driven trucks with occasional light trails, Stage 2 may be sufficient.
For customers building a more serious trail or overland Tacoma, Stage 3 is the stronger choice.
Which Stage 3 Configuration Should I Order?
Mostly stock daily driver:
Choose Stock Rear Springs — 0 lb Added Load / Tubular Delta Joint Pro.
Daily driver + camping/trail gear that comes and goes:
Choose Triple-Rate Rear Springs — Variable Load.
Dedicated overland build carrying substantial permanent equipment:
Choose Overland Rear Springs — 600 lb Constant Load.
Then choose between Tubular and Billet Delta Joint Pro UCAs based on your preferred construction and budget.
Fitment

Rear: ICON 2.0 VS Remote Reservoir Shocks
UCA: ICON Delta Joint Pro

Before Ordering
Suspension selection should be based on your Tacoma's normal operating weight, including permanently installed accessories.
Do not select the 600 lb constant-load spring simply because you occasionally carry heavy cargo. An excessively heavy spring on a lightly loaded truck can negatively affect ride quality.
For the best results, choose:
Stock → little to no permanent added rear weight
Triple-Rate → changing/variable loads
600 lb Constant Load → approximately 600 lb of permanent additional rear weight
This makes the Stage 3 system configurable for everything from a lightly modified Tacoma to a fully equipped overland build while maintaining a properly matched suspension package.
