MT64 Monotube Technology

Old Man Emu's MT64 combines a large 64mm piston with a monotube design to provide consistent damping and excellent thermal management during extended driving.

The increased oil volume and large piston help the shock maintain consistent performance over rough roads, trails, washboard terrain, and long-distance touring.

The result is a suspension system designed to provide increased control without sacrificing the ride quality expected from a premium overland suspension.

OME offers two front configurations so you can match the suspension to the amount of permanent equipment installed on your Tacoma.

2" Lift – Stock Front Load

Designed for Tacomas without significant permanent additional front-end weight.

Ideal for relatively stock trucks and lighter builds.

2" Lift – 220–330 lbs Additional Front Load

Designed for Tacomas carrying approximately 220–330 lbs of permanent additional front-end weight.

Ideal for vehicles equipped with combinations such as:

Choose Your Rear Suspension

Stock Height – Stock Rear Load

Retains the factory rear ride height while upgrading the Tacoma to MT64 rear shocks.

This is an excellent choice for customers who want approximately 2" of front lift while keeping the rear suspension at its existing height.

2" Lift – Standard Rear Load

Provides approximately 2" of rear lift using the appropriate OME rear leaf-spring system.

Ideal for daily-driven Tacomas, camping setups, and moderate overland builds without substantial permanent rear weight.

2" Lift – 600 lbs Constant Rear Load

Designed for heavily equipped overland Tacomas carrying approximately 600 lbs of constant additional rear load.

Ideal for builds equipped with permanent accessories such as:

Important: The 600-lb configuration is designed around constant additional weight. It should not be selected simply because the truck occasionally carries heavy cargo.

Optional OME Upper Control Arms

Complete your MT64 suspension system with optional Old Man Emu UCA0005 Upper Control Arms.

Lifting the front suspension alters factory suspension geometry. OME upper control arms are engineered for lifted Tacoma applications and help provide improved alignment geometry and proper suspension operation.

Choose between:

Factory Upper Control Arms – Retains your existing factory UCAs.

OME Upper Control Arms – Adds a pair of OME UCA0005 upper control arms to your suspension package.

For customers building a complete overland suspension system, the OME UCA upgrade is recommended.
