Old Man Emu - BP51 Suspension Kit - Toyota Tundra 2022–Current
OLD MAN EMU BP-51 OVERLAND SUSPENSION
Refined on the Highway. Composed Beyond the Pavement.
Prepare your Tundra for the entire journey—not just the destination.
The Old Man Emu BP-51 Overland Suspension Kit combines adjustable internal-bypass shocks, matched front coilover assemblies and load-specific rear springs in a coordinated package for the Toyota Tundra 2022–Current.
With approximately 3 inches of front lift and 2 inches of rear lift, this system delivers a purposeful stance with suspension you can fine-tune around your equipment, terrain and preferred ride.
Choose your rear-load configuration and add optional heavy-duty upper control arms to create the package your build needs.
PREMIUM PERFORMANCE YOU CAN FINE-TUNE
Internal-Bypass Technology
BP-51 uses position-sensitive damping to balance comfort around normal ride height with increased control toward the ends of suspension travel.
It’s an approach designed to deliver a composed ride over smaller irregularities while providing additional damping as the suspension moves deeper into its travel.
Independent Compression & Rebound Adjustment
With 10 settings for compression and 10 settings for rebound, BP-51 lets you adjust how the suspension responds without removing the shocks.
-
Compression adjustment controls resistance as the shock compresses.
-
Rebound adjustment controls how quickly the suspension extends afterward.
Fine-tune the settings for your vehicle and trip requirements, following Old Man Emu’s setup guidance. Shock adjustment complements the correct springs—it does not replace choosing the appropriate load configuration.
Remote-Reservoir Design
Remote reservoirs provide additional oil capacity to support heat management during extended off-road use. Aluminum shock bodies further assist heat dissipation and corrosion resistance.
STEP 1 — SELECT YOUR REAR LOAD
Light Load (Stock Rear Weight)
For a stock or lightly equipped bed and occasional camping cargo.
Choose this configuration when your Tundra normally operates without a substantial permanent rear load.
Ideal for:
-
Daily driving with a mostly empty bed.
-
Lightweight bed accessories.
-
Camping equipment loaded only for trips.
-
Tools and cargo that are regularly removed.
This is the lighter-load spring choice—not a statement that the truck cannot carry cargo.
Overland (Constant 440 lb)
For approximately 440 pounds of equipment that stays on the truck.
Choose this configuration for an established overland setup carrying a combined permanent rear load around the specified weight.
Equipment may include:
-
Bed rack and rooftop tent.
-
Camper or canopy setup.
-
Drawer and storage systems.
-
Rear bumper and recovery equipment.
-
Permanently mounted tools and accessories.
Choose by actual permanent weight—not accessory names alone. Occasional passengers and temporary cargo should not be counted as constant load. Heavier-load springs can produce a firmer ride when used without the intended equipment weight.
STEP 2 — SELECT YOUR UPPER CONTROL ARMS
Without Upper Control Arms
Includes the suspension system without replacement upper control arms.
Choose this option if you already have suitable aftermarket upper control arms, or your installer has confirmed that your existing arms are appropriate for the intended setup.
Selecting this option does not guarantee that factory arms will meet alignment and clearance requirements at every lift setting.
With Upper Control Arms
Adds an Old Man Emu heavy-duty upper control arm kit.
Choose this option when you want upgraded upper control arms supplied with your suspension package rather than sourcing them separately.
Your selected rear springs and BP-51 shock configuration remain unchanged. This option adds the control arm kit.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
Every configuration includes:
-
Left and right BP-51 front coilover assemblies.
-
Two BP-51 rear shocks.
-
Remote reservoirs supplied with the BP-51 assemblies.
-
Rear coil springs matched to your selected load.
-
Front and rear BP-51 fitting kits.
-
Rear sway-bar spacer kit.
-
Brake-line spacer kit.
When “With Upper Control Arms” is selected:
-
Old Man Emu heavy-duty upper control arm kit.
Upper control arms are included only when that option is selected. Product images may show optional components; your selected configuration determines what is supplied.
FITMENT & SETUP
Vehicle: Toyota Tundra 2022–Current
Nominal Front Lift: Approximately 3 inches
Nominal Rear Lift: Approximately 2 inches
Added Front-Weight Range: 0–330 pounds
Rear Load Choices: Stock rear weight or constant 440-pound load
Upper Control Arms: Optional
All four configurations use the same front suspension package. No separate front-load selection is required.
Actual lift height depends on factory equipment, installed accessories, suspension setup and operating weight.
Professional installation is recommended. A wheel alignment is required after installation. Your installer should verify control arm suitability, reservoir and hose routing, clearances and adjustment settings according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Load-specific springs support the intended equipment weight; they do not increase the vehicle manufacturer’s rated payload or towing limits.
YOUR BUILD. YOUR TERRAIN. YOUR SETTINGS.
From long highway stretches to the backroads beyond camp, BP-51 brings adjustable control and load-matched support to a Tundra built for exploration.
